Usselerriet complies with the standards and guidelines of Demeter and EKO. On an international basis Usselerriet also complies with the EU-guidelines for organic products.

Organic products are recognized by their EKO-quality mark. The products are cultivated without using fertilizer and chemical pesticides and contain no chemical-synthetic aromas, colours or flavourings and preservatives. The organic farming standards are based on the preservation of the environment, nature and landscape and the welfare of animals. These standards are applied throughout the entire European Union. Organic products are regulated by SKAL, an inspection organisation that has been appointed by the Dutch government. (Source: Platform Biologica – what is organic)

The basic assumption is that there is a close link between plant, animal, soil and cosmos. Earthly and cosmic powers are used within biodynamic farming to an optimum. The aim is a cycle of feed yourself and fertilize yourself. In addition licence holders must also comply with the EU-standards for organic production methods. Biodynamic products can be identified by the Demeter-quality mark; SKAL and the Association for Biodynamic Farming and Feeding (BD-Association) carry out the regulations.
